Chris and Krista met at IMG Academy in October 2018. Chris had started working there at the end of August, a little over a month before Krista joined the team. As a Strength & Conditioning Coach and an Athletic Trainer, they both work together in APD and the Basketball Program.

Chris likes to say that if he hadn't decided to walk into work through a different door one day, he may never have crossed paths with Krista who was leaving and had the chance to talk to her outside of the weight room.

Their unofficial first date happened a few weeks later at the Sarasota airport. As Thanksgiving approached, they discovered they had flights home around the same time. Krista planned to have her roommate drop her off at the airport and when she found out Chris was going at the same time, she offered him a ride there. Both Chris and Krista were dropped off at SRQ, and they spent time together before heading their separate ways for the holiday. What seemed like a simple airport trip has since become one of their favorite first memories.

Chris was born in Rochester, New York, and grew up in Wichita, Kansas. Krista was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Neither of them could have predicted that life would bring them both to Sarasota, Florida, where they have now lived for nearly eight years.

When it comes to most things outside of sports and ice cream, they're complete opposites. Chris is always hot while Krista is always cold. Krista is an early riser, while Chris would much rather sleep in. Chris tends to be more methodical, and Krista is the creative one. Somehow, those differences have balanced each other- almost perfectly.

Neither of them imagined that a job in Florida would lead them to finding their person. But here they are, grateful for every unexpected turn that brought them together, and excited for all the adventures still to come.
